Pine Lakes Country Club

Pine Lakes Country Club has been a famed Myrtle Beach tradition for golfers since 1927. Nicknamed “The Granddaddy,” the landmark lovely Southern clubhouse, combined with the Scottish theme and elegant beauty of the rolling fairways and freshwater lakes make this golf course worth a visit year after year.

Located less than half a mile from the ocean, Pine Lakes, which is on the National Register of Historic Places, was originally designed as a 27-hole course by architect Robert White, first president of the PGA.

From 2006-2009, it underwent a complete renovation into an 18-hole golf course, revealing a redesign that bolstered the graceful appeal on the front nine, while keeping the historic integrity intact on the back nine. Craig Schreiner redesigned Pine Lakes, a par-70/6,675-yard/134 slope, with SeaDwarf Paspalum grass and course contour changes to better channel storm water.

Pine Lakes is also site of the Myrtle Beach Hall of Fame.

This was my first time playing Pine Lakes and I wasn't disappointed. The course is layout is great and the tees, greens, and fairways are in magnificent shape. I will definitely be back. Tks Pine Lakes for a great day on the links!

Steve on

golf course in good shape tee to green.

Pat on

This course can compete with the clubs I played out in the Eastern side of Phoenix. Well manicured greens and the fairways were like playing off a plush carpet. A definite to play and return to play again.

Alvin on

The layout here is really top notch. Such a fun play. Not super long, even from the back tees, but still a test of golf even for the excellent players. It was AMAZING how well maintained this course was considering the amount of rounds it gets played. The one down side is that they do not police groups that are playing slow or getting rowdy on the course. We had, basically, a 7-some in front of us spending up to 15min annoying the poor cart girl, and no ranger ever told them to speed up with 2 holes clear ahead of them. With that said, I would still come back here to play again.

Patrick on

Nice course but a little slow play wise. Windy day. Will be back.

Patrick on

Fun course. Expect a slow round but worth the wait. Did not use grill.

Damian on

I love this course!! Absolutely in Love. The course was in fantastic condition. It was well worth the $53 we paid. I will definitely be back to this course.

John on

I would say the course was in good, but not excellent shape, but that is pretty normal for winter golf. The greens were a little slow for my taste but overall it was a positive outing.

Tammy on

I was very annoyed that we were not allowed to play just the two of us when the pair originally scheduled to be with us didn't show. I told The started I was a novice, but he put us with another pair anyway, and then bird-dogged us constantly to hurry up. I didn't play half the time, just so we wouldn't get yelled at again. It ruined my vacation. It was unnecessary to put us with the other couple. They were scheduled at a later time. Obviously, 4 people take longer than 2. I won't be back.

Rob on

Open fairways, moderately difficult course.
