Myrtlewood Golf Club’s Palmetto Course, located in the heart of Myrtle Beach, is one of two championship layouts that stretch through pine forests and along the Intracoastal Waterway.
The Palmetto Course’s traditional design has made it a popular choice for more than two decades, featuring gently sloping fairways and large, undulating greens separated by an array of water hazards and strategically placed bunkers.
The Palmetto Course offers well-manicured tif-dwarf Bermuda grass greens and fairways surrounded by scenic vistas of the Waterway and surprisingly serene woodlands that make it hard to believe you are playing so near downtown Myrtle Beach.
The Palmetto Course is a great challenge for golfers of any skill level and presents players with a relaxed Lowcountry setting that is such a part of the coastal South Carolina lifestyle.

Nice course but the greens were in terrible shape. I understand they had ice problems. They really n eed marshalls out there. Very slow...some groups left the course due to backups. Delays like this can ruin a round and some will never go back. All courses need to understand that this is the one thing that will prevent people from ever going back.
One of our favorite courses. Really like the layout and the course was in very good condition. The grill was overpriced. A bottle of Gatorade and a bag of M&Ms was $8. Kind of high. Bag attendant was insistent that he take our bags even though we wanted to move them ourselves and then stood behind us pouting for a tip after he grabbed them and moved them the 1 foot from the waiting area to our cart.
Greens were in a very bad state. Pace of play on the back 9 was so slow we had 3 groups waiting on many tees. No rangers in view the whole round. Some groups behind us gave up and missed out the last few holes. Not a course I will return to.
Had not played here in 35 years or so. Virtually no houses around in 1983. Fairways were great for February. Tees very nice as well. Would have liked more grass on the greens-but what can one expect for Feb.? Will be back.
Very nice/helpful staff. Course was in excellent condition and very fun to play. Wide open so good for my "spray" type game but enough challenge to make it enjoyable. I'll be back for sure.
