The Heritage Club Golf Course in Pawleys Island, just south of Myrtle Beach, offers Southern charm and hospitality for golfers lucky enough to book a tee time at this layout.
Surrounded by ancient oak trees, huge magnolias and pine forests, The Heritage Club is built on an old antebellum rice plantation that gives golfers the feeling of going back in time.
The natural beauty of the property, featuring fresh-water lakes and salt-marsh swamps, is equaled only by the quality of the course itself. The well-maintained grounds and greens make it an ideal place to play and spend the day.
After playing a round on the challenging Par 71, many golfers like to relax on the porch of the Southern-style Colonial Clubhouse overlooking the Waccamaw River – the perfect way to unwind after a wonderful day of golf.

Course and staff were great. Make sure you get a pin placement card in cart. Ours did not have one-BIG MISTAKE. These are BIG greens. You will need the pin chart. Only complaint would be to FIX the CART PATHS!! GEEZ! Felt like a washboard and it gets old after a 9 holes!
Greens were extremely large. The pin placement on the second hole was a bit unfair for the golfer not knowing the course.
One of the finest course of the 20 I have played in myrtle. Caledonia is down the street and heritage club is definitely a close relative. Any memorable holes and one of the most scenic par 3's in myrtle. In held up to the rain well and the greens putted true. The breakfast lunch and drink offer was 1st rate and the proshop was well stocked with many deals. The staff was welcoming and made the day very momorable. It is a play again and again course on our list.
Everyone appreciates you playing their course and treats you in ways to show their appreciation. We have played The Heritage three years in a row and will be back next year. Thanks to everyone employed at the Heritage.
This is a beautiful course in Pawleys Island very challenging in great condition as always, friendly staff from the minute you pull up to the bag drop, to the shuttle driver from the parking lot to the pro shop to check in and then the girls in the lounge which also includes breakfast and lunch with 2 drinks. In my opinion it is the best bang for the buck for a high end course.
Have played several times in the past, and played again this past Friday utilizing an 11-year old rain check - which they honored! Course was very wet after a week of rain in the area, and we were restricted to cart path only. But playing it again after about a 5-6 year absence brought back the memories of what a great and beautiful course it is. Great low-country scenery, fairways (despite being wet) were near perfect. Greens not lightning fast, but rolled very well. Bunkers in good shape, and grounds crew was working hard as we were playing. Staff most accommodating, and their offer of a free breakfast, free lunch and two drinks with the round made for a perfect day. Got a great deal on a shirt in the Pro Shop. Was paired with three guys from Atlanta, and we enjoyed the day. Will definitely return!
Heritage is possibly the best course on the entire Grand Strand in SC.
HOWEVER .... the pace of play is the absolute worst on earth.
Heritage is the flagship course of "The Legends" resort courses. They over-book, have no regard for pace of play and have taken a superb course to a place I will not ever visit again.
I played, no, went to Heritage 3 times in 2016.
1st time we were just ignorant and played a 5 1/2 hour round. Even the cart girl was PO'd with the p[ace of play.
2nd time, we made the turn after 3 hours and just turned around and left the course. No. 10 was backed up. People hitting multiple balls all day.
3rd time, we made the turn in just under 3 hours and were the 5th group of 4 sitting to tee off at 1. We left, went to the parking lot, loaded our stuff in the truck, left the cart sitting there and vacated the Heritage.
NEVER TO RETURN.
