Caledonia Golf & Fish Club

Upon your arrival at Caledonia Golf & Fish Club in Pawleys Island, just south of Myrtle Beach, it quickly becomes evident you are on special, almost sacred, grounds.

Built on an old rice plantation, the grand entrance takes golfers back in time through rows of twisted live oaks and hanging Spanish moss to reach the Old South-style clubhouse. But the real fun begins once you hit the links.

Caledonia and it’s sister course The True Blue Golf Club continued to gain national recognition in 2016. These two golf facilities combine great design, each with a special visual and playing experience and southern hospitality to make for a true low country golf experience. The list of accolades this year includes these and others……

"Caledonia is quite calm, beautiful and challenging, especially the back nine. Playing this course is a great way to spend the afternoon."

WA Kokola on

Best course we have played in over a decade of playing dozens of courses in Myrtle Beach. Period.

Course is beautiful but a little overrated. Nice Bermuda greens but some of the slowest I’ve ever played. Pace of play was excruciating, and they didn’t pair us up with another twosome, so it felt even longer. Overall, I’d probably come back but not before I play Tidewater 3 more times.

One of the very best courses on the Grand Strand. This is a shot makers course and will most likely make you use every club in your bag. Excellent condition and exceptional greens.

Really enjoyed the course layout and overall course conditions. Not sure #18 was a manageable carry across the water to the green for my wife, but overall she had an great experience as well. Greens had been dressed with sand, but still rolled true and faster than most greens in the area. We will definitely play this course again!

We loved the Caledonia Golf and Fish Club. It had a lovely ambiance and the entrance has a wonderful Southern feel. We look forward to playing the course again in the future.

Our group plays here every year. It is the by far the most enjoyable day of golf we play.
Course conditions great. It is a must if you are South or just a 40 minute drive form central Myrtle beach.

Chuck Fieger on

Greens are in bad / bad shape, many of them had sod in worn areas trying to recover. The sod was like having a piece of rough in the middle of the putting surface. Not worth the price point ($199) at this time. Played this course every year for the last 4 and it is time the greens get rebuilt. The she crab soup at the turn was still awesome!!

Great golf course , excellent shape for January, but made reservation for 36 holes...pace of play exceedingly slow and told we could play as many holes as we could get in on second round, we told pro shop we would pay for another 18, but informed we were getting a “deal” on replay at a 9 hole rate, again, despite the fact we would pay for 18 holes, then after playing 9 holes behind a group that took longer than the final group at the US Open, were yanked off the course on the 10th hole and told we only paid for 9 holes.
