Founders Club
Founders Club at Pawleys Island may have just opened in 2008, but it’s already fast-becoming a tradition among countless golfers.
With a backdrop like the picturesque setting of Pawleys Island, it’s no wonder this par- 72 golf course has an allure far and wide in all of its 6,910 yards. Founders Club showcases 18 one-of-a-kind holes reinvented by designer Thomas Walker on the former grounds of the Sea Gulf Golf Club.
Founders Club is known to offer a dramatic but accommodating round of golf – from isolated tee boxes to water features, enhanced by a sprinkling of azaleas and towering live oaks.
After the 18th hole, wrap up your day on the wrap-around porch at the Founders Club’s Lowcountry-style clubhouse overlooking the 18th green. The clubhouse offers a slew of dining and meeting options.

View This ResortFounders is one of my favorite all time courses. Period. The low average rating is bs, as there is nothing to complain about with the entire place. Friendly people, the course was in great shape last time I played, and it wasn’t crowded.
Not in good condition. Grass patchy, greens half grass half dirt. I felt like I was cheated based on the price I paid.
I have been coming to Myrtle Beach for 13 years to play golf. This by far was the worst experience I ever had! First the course was in terrible shape: the tee boxes, fairways, and the greens were destroyed. But what made it worse was the water jugs had warm water, there was no beverage service on the course and the restrooms on the back nine were locked! Horrible!
This course is an excellent layout. It features little to no rough and all waste bunkers, (much like the home to American golf Pinehurst). It is a difficult track which is why people say they don't like it. If you can't get out of the sand you're going to have a long day. The conditions were spot on. Any negative reviews you hear about this course come from high handicappers who can't hit a sand shot, they put up a monster number and then say the course sucks. Anyone who knows a lick about golf and golf course design will appreciate this track. If you're a hacker go play a pitch & putt leave the real golf courses to the real golfers !
