Legends – Heathland
The Legends Golf Resorts’ Heathland Course in Myrtle Beach is a throwback to the grand “Old Country” traditions of the game.
Designed by renowned architect Tom Doak, Heathland has been distinctly built in the image of the British Isles links courses, with holes reminiscent of familiar ones like St. Andrews, Lahinch and Cruden Bay.
The true challenge of this Heathland comes primarily from the unobstructed breeze that blows constantly over the course, and the strategically placed bunkers and lush, deep rough that closely guards all the fairways. Many of the green-side bunkers are deep and require creative shots to make an escape.
Heathland has been rated one of the “Top 10 New Resort Courses in the World” by GOLF Magazine in 1990, and its one-of-a-kind design makes it a real treat for players of all skill levels.

Some golfers prefer drivable par-3s, others love the long par-5s. But all agree that the 19th hole is their favorite, and the Myrtle Beach area has plenty. ... Read More

View This ResortPlayed Legends on 2/26/21. Course was in good shape. The fairways were great with the overseed. The greens were rolling true and the pace was great at just a little over 4 Hours. We had a couple beginners with us and the course was very playable for all of us. Also had lunch in the clubhouse and the Rueben was excellent.
This was the first time playing any of the legend courses. I thought the course was in great shape for February, although cart path only due to excessive rain the day before, was relatively dry, apparently drains well. This was a nice course to play with my wife, had some short holes as well as some true testers. Service was fine, everyone was friendly. Greens were excessively dark, possibly the type caused them to be dormant, but rolled fine. Looking forward to a return visit and playing the other Legend courses.
The course was very good shape with only 3 greens hurting a tiny bit due to summer heat (8,9,12) I thought the fairways were in great shaped and pretty well drained considering all the rain we had night before. It has been a long time since I had played Heathland and it was as fun as I remember (still think Moorland is my favorite of the 3 but it’s all because of the layout nothing to do with the shape of the course). Front 9 was really fun and pretty opened, back 9 was even better with some really fun and rewarding par 5’s. Overall I really expected it to be a little more burned than it was just because playing in July is always a struggle to find great greens, that is not the case here.
The course is wonderful but when it takes no time to play the front nine, takes forever to play the back nine because of double teeing. I understand it's a money thing but at the same time it's our vacation that's being abused.
loved this course. The breakfast and lunch a great bonus when squeezing in 36 holes in one day.
Great course!! Played Moorland because of the delay on Heathland!! Glad I did, really enjoyed this course! It was fun and fair. I love the courses here. The service and efficiency of check-in definitely needs some attention.
