Legends – Moorland
The Legends Golf Resorts’ Moorland Course in Myrtle Beach is known as one of the toughest tests of golf in the Eastern United States, and for good reason.
Designed by renowned architect P.B. Dye, Moorland is similar in layout to the PGA West Stadium Course, using extreme elevation changes, hazards of natural grasses, sand, water and waste areas and multi-tiered greens to create incredible undulations and scenery.
Considered a “target” golf course for it sculpted terrain that rises to great heights and sinks to considerable depths in the bunkers, the 4.5-star rated Moorland has earned its designation as one of the “Top 10 New Courses of 1990” by Golf Digest.
Moorland also presents one of the top holes on the Grand Strand with its 245-yard, par-4 16th, which features a bunker guarding the green so large that it earned the nickname “Hell’s Half Acre.” It’s just one of the many factors that make it a great challenge for all skill levels.
Some golfers prefer drivable par-3s, others love the long par-5s. But all agree that the 19th hole is their favorite, and the Myrtle Beach area has plenty. ... Read More

The golf course, itself, is tremendous and challenging. Playing the whites, it was one of the toughest courses I've played in my life. But the day got started with being herded like cattle with an attendant with an attitude. Even worse, the pro shop people were rude and arrogant. I played Parkland two days later and got the same cold staff in the pro shop. The starter on Parkland on 12/6 was warm and informative. The rest of staff should take a lesson.
Terrible pace of play. Over 5 hours for 18 holes. Never saw a Marshall try and pick up the pace. Plan on 6 hours or more for check in until done. Wat to close of tee times and too many players
Great overall course. Difficult with many blind approach shots. The greens have significant undulation and small separate tiers. Great facilities.
I thought the course was challenging. Enjoyed the picturesque layout and design. I did not enjoy being rushed by the group behind us. I feel that when you come to a course on vacation that you should be able to relax and enjoy without feeling pressured by the group behind you.
Very slow round, over 5 /2 hours with 2 or 3 groups on some holes or waiting to play holes.
