Book This DealPro shop – Patrick was a one man show and really did a great job managing the pro shop and the snack bar… Bag drop out parking was quick and painless. The drive really isn’t that bad considering everything in main roads, so it’s a smooth drive.
Front 9 – Was in great shape, even after doing some small work on the greens only 1 hole you could even notice. The layout for the front was very sweet & narrow fairways with zero houses and plenty of neat paths to get to the next hole. Greens were in Great shape minus the one hole I mentioned.
Back 9 – The back side was a little different but still in really good shape, a little more open than the front side (Prob due to some houses being built) but was very nice to change it up considering my slice was on point today. The greens were almost near perfect, had 2 holes (11/12 I think) that needed some work but being summer you would expect a little spots. I’ll tell you guys 16,17,18 were in perfect shape with 16 & 17 being 2 really neat layouts to play on.
Fair design and in good condition. The staff was friendly and helpful. Clubhouse not as fancy as most in Myrtle but very comfortable. Staff had helped stop the spread of the coronavirus such as removing the rakes from the traps. Enjoyed the variety of holes.
Whether you know it as Diamond Back or Woodland Valley, this little course in Loris is well worth the drive. Set back in trees of Northern Horry County, this secluded layout offers a great day of golf for a single or any size group. The fairways are well maintained and are for most part lined with natural forest land with some wetland areas to play over. Bunkers were wet as it had rained the night before but the course was off the cart paths. The greens were in great shape. So much much so that if you missed a putt is was on you. The clubhouse offers a nice relaxing place to sit by a fire side and watch some games while you enjoy a basic but tasty bar food menu. Top to bottom the course was in great shape and shows work has been invested into the course by the great staff on hand. This one to play once, and go back to play again.
Good golf course good help etc. Pro shop clean. Played Jan & Feb.2017.
They have put more $$ in it.
Would have liked to know the condition of the fairways and greens prior to play
I'll NEVER play this course again. First of all, the course is extremely narrow. A good portion of the trouble is hidden....water directly behind bunkers, water in depressions that you can't see, marshes, extremely small and short landing areas...all of this in a Forest setting that has trees as a boundary on every hole. That coupled with the fact that there were swarms of mosquitoes and gnats hassling us during the entire round. Topped off with the fact that they only had 8 ounce cups in the bar and NO cart girl made this an unenjoyable day. With all of the great golf in the MB area, I suggest you go to another course.
It was an excellent course which all the guys liked. The guys advised they would like to play it when it was dry otherwise they had a great time.
