Arcadian Shores

Arcadian Shores Golf Club, a semi-private resort club, has been a Rees Jones-designed tradition on the north end of Myrtle Beach since 1974. It was actually the first golf course designed by Jones.

The 18-hole course measures out just 6,857 yards from the Championship tees, making it playable for golfers of all skill levels. But beware of the beauty in Arcadian Shores’ challenges, as seven holes of the course play along freshwater lakes, and there are 64 strategically placed sand bunkers around the Tifdwarf Bermuda greens and 10 acres of natural lakes that border the 419 Bermuda fairways. Add to that, the elevation of many of the greens – and the occasional nearby ocean breeze that comes into play on the back nine.

Take note: Hole No. 13 has been named by the PGA as one of the best holes in South Carolina and revered by golfers in the Myrtle Beach area.

Myrtle Beach Hilton Resort leased the course up until June 2009, when Burroughs & Chapin took over management. Since then, Burroughs & Chapin has been dedicated to reviving its 37-year-old award-winning form with improvements and enhancements.

A practice facility and golf instruction are both available on-site. Golfers also have access to the Hilton Golf Academy.

I played the course many years ago it was considered a lower end track that had poor conditioning. I was shocked to find out how much progress was made with the course.. I considered the condition excellent and the greens second to none.

Coming in Myrtle Beach area for over 30 years, never played Arcadian Shores before due to poor course maintenance. Well, this has changed a lot, they built a new clubhouse, repaved all cart paths, regrassed all tee boxes and greens. Unfortunately, greens had just been spiked and sanded but were keeping the line. Fairways have been boosted so it makes a 1974 design looks like a new course wirh mature trees. Today was really a nice surprise, would recommend to all golfers !

Greens were re-grassed last summer. Very good this summer! New clubhouse is quite nice. The repaved cart paths go a bit unnoticed. Some of the courses in the area have quite bumpy cart paths. Not here. Would recommend!

Course is in awesome shape! They've already done their aeration for the summer so they'll be in great shape all summer long. One of the best layouts on the beach that Reese Jones guy knows his stuff!

Try to play here every year. Was in best shape in years! Like the renovations, staff is always excellent! I’ll be back in July!!

GOOD SHAPE. OVERPRICED FOR THE SENIOR. SNOWBIRD. I HAD A BIRDIE ON THE 17th HOLE THAT MADE MY DAY.

VICKEY on

Nice course. We had the first tee time for the day so pace was perfect.

Dan on

we have played many times at arcadian shores and all the new changes, club house, greens, cart paths etc were great

Karl on

Brand new clubhouse, cart paths, and the whole course has been brought back to top shape after the damage from last years storms.

Edward on

Course just opened a few weeks ago with brand new greens and I could certainly tell. Not a bad spot to be found! New cart paths and a few other minor renovations have made this one of the nicer facilities around. Will most definitely return
