Arcadian Shores

Arcadian Shores Golf Club, a semi-private resort club, has been a Rees Jones-designed tradition on the north end of Myrtle Beach since 1974. It was actually the first golf course designed by Jones.

The 18-hole course measures out just 6,857 yards from the Championship tees, making it playable for golfers of all skill levels. But beware of the beauty in Arcadian Shores’ challenges, as seven holes of the course play along freshwater lakes, and there are 64 strategically placed sand bunkers around the Tifdwarf Bermuda greens and 10 acres of natural lakes that border the 419 Bermuda fairways. Add to that, the elevation of many of the greens – and the occasional nearby ocean breeze that comes into play on the back nine.

Take note: Hole No. 13 has been named by the PGA as one of the best holes in South Carolina and revered by golfers in the Myrtle Beach area.

Myrtle Beach Hilton Resort leased the course up until June 2009, when Burroughs & Chapin took over management. Since then, Burroughs & Chapin has been dedicated to reviving its 37-year-old award-winning form with improvements and enhancements.

A practice facility and golf instruction are both available on-site. Golfers also have access to the Hilton Golf Academy.

GOOD SHAPE. OVERPRICED FOR THE SENIOR. SNOWBIRD. I HAD A BIRDIE ON THE 17th HOLE THAT MADE MY DAY.

Nice course. We had the first tee time for the day so pace was perfect.

we have played many times at arcadian shores and all the new changes, club house, greens, cart paths etc were great

Karl on

Brand new clubhouse, cart paths, and the whole course has been brought back to top shape after the damage from last years storms.

Edward on

Course just opened a few weeks ago with brand new greens and I could certainly tell. Not a bad spot to be found! New cart paths and a few other minor renovations have made this one of the nicer facilities around. Will most definitely return

We had a fun round. It was a little rainy but aside from Mother Nature we really enjoyed the place.

Love the layout. By far was my favorite course on the trip. Currently are rebuilding the clubhouse so there are very few amenities. The greens are terrible, but they closed the course later that day for several months to redo them. I will definitely try the course again the next time I'm in town.

the course was not a 1st class experience by no means. They did not have enough bag people to help and they were average at best. No clubhouse, a trailer.... the cart paths were all in bad shape. Greens were average as well as the fairways. Would be a course that I would only pay $40 with a cart to play.

Clubhouse is under construction. 2 & 3 groups on par 3's. Slow pace of play.

I was there on vacation and was really looking forward to playing some Myrtle Beach golf. I am a 4 handicap golfer was excited about playing Arcadian Shores. I take golf serious and want to score good. I know from past experiences going out as a single they will pair you up with someone because it is busy. I don't mind that but this experience was horrible. I was paired up with a man, his wife and his 5 year old kid. The woman was going to play but had never played before. I birdied the first hole and the other guy made an 11. He didn't even know I had made birdie. He never spotted his ball on the green and never would pull the flagstick. I had to tell him everytime to pull it. I shot 77 and he shot at least 120 if not more. It was not fun at all and felt like I had wasted 59.00. I wish I would have been paired with more serious golfers!!
