Leopards Chase

Leopard’s Chase Golf Links in lovely Ocean Isle, N.C., located just a short drive from Myrtle Beach, has quickly earned its own reputation as one of the top courses on the Grand Strand.

Built alongside Ocean Ridge Plantation’s Big Cat sister courses Panther’s Run, Lion’s Paw and Tiger’s Eye, Leopard’s Chase rounds out a 72-hole paradise for golfers who love a good challenge, and the newest 18-hole layout may be the best.

Named the “Top 10 Best New Public Courses in America” in 2007 by Golf Digest and GOLF Magazine, Leopard’s Chase was designed by Tim Cate to create a unique layout that distinguishes itself from the existing courses.

Mission accomplished. Leopard’s Chase takes advantage of the coastal terrain and makes use of man-made water hazards, such as a waterfall on the finishing hole, to make Leopard’s Chase a one-of-a-kind golfer experience.

Played here 6/17/21. Course in Ok condition. Greens were nice but mowed high and very slow. Rest of course very spotty and bunkers also in just Ok condition and there are lots of bunkers. I had a good time and enjoyed the course but don't feel the need to play it again. My family has been coming to sunset beach for 29 years and I always have enjoyed th big cats until recently. They are just not kept in very good condition anymore. The staff at Leopards Chase was too notch.

I really like the course and thought the layout was really good fairways were in great shape. I only have one complaint and that’s the greens were extremely slow and very shaggy /inconsistent. I would come back and play.

Don’t bother. The staff here is outstanding, great people. The course hasn’t had anything done to it for years. Greens dead, massive weeds throughout, using sand to try to smooth things out. Not working. Unfortunately the greens keeper recently passed and perhaps was sick for a while? but this course has been neglected for a long time. Cart seats and surfaces had mold and mildew all over and appeared to probably be the original from over 10 years ago. Sorry but this goes beyond a sick greens keeper and hurricane. 12 guys we brought who will never be back but thanks to the staff who were outstanding folks. The only bright spot

Very wet, so that detracted from course condition. Good layout but generally disappointing overall.

Paul on

Great course, slow greens in summer due to bent grass. Staff was fantastic, was allowed to play as twosome so rate of play was great. Clubhouse/grill are small but ok

Michael on

Staff was especially Art (Ranger) was very helpful. Too much rain making bunkers almost unplayable.

Bruce on

Pricey compared to comparable courses in the area. The course and staff were Excellent, but just not worth the extra $$. Played Scramble so can't actually put in my score

Eric on

Course is in great shape

Greens had been recently punched. Were very slow and bumpy. Otherwise, the course was in excellent condition. Would love to play again when greens are in their normal condition.
