Travelers Guide to a Guys’ Golf Outing in Myrtle Beach

You owe it to yourself to plan a golf excursion to Myrtle Beach this spring.

The Golf Capital of the World has it all. Awesome resorts. Excellent dining options. Fun things to do off the course.

And of course, some of the finest places to play in the world.

WHERE TO STAY: Litchfield Beach and Golf

It’s in its own class. Litchfield Beach and Golf blends Hammock Coast tranquility with top-course splendor. Start your day with a buffet breakfast before venturing out for your morning tee time.

PRO TIP: Want to stay in the middle of it all? Ocean Reef Resort is off the strip and on the water, with on-site dining and more.

WHERE TO PLAY: It Depends on Where You Stay!

Each region of the Grand Strand has its own stellar courses to offer.

NORTH: The Love Course at Barefoot Resort

Who among us doesn’t love a Davis Love design? The Love Course at Barefoot Resort is a stunning 7,000-yard layout that is a blast to play. It features recreated ruins of an old plantation home on Nos. 3 through 7.

PRO TIP: Head to Ocean Isle to play legend Willard Byrd’s greatest design. Lion’s Paw Golf Links is pretty in scenery and clever on every hole.

CENTRAL: World Tour Golf Links

Some holes around the world are the stuff of legends. At World Tour Golf Links, you can play them all on one course. You’ll find replicas of holes from Augusta National, Pine Valley, St. Andrews, and more.

PRO TIP: Try Myrtlewood Palmetto for a round through pine forests along the Waterway. It’s been a go-to for players for more than 20 years.

SOUTH: Blackmoor Golf Club

The experience makes Blackmoor Golf Course worth it. The only Gary Player course in town, it’s off the Waccamaw River at Longwood Plantation. This rolling layout is a pleasure to play.

PRO TIP: Revel in the beauty and craftsmanship of True Blue Golf Club. Play among majestic pines, live oaks, and tidal creeks on this Mike Stranz design.
