The Dunes Club
The Dunes Club
The Dunes Golf and Beach Club in Myrtle Beach is not only rated as the No. 1 golf course in Myrtle Beach, but also as one of the best courses in the world. In 2014 they hosted the 2014 PGA Professional National Championship.
Built by legendary designer Robert Trent Jones and opened in 1949, the historic Dunes Club continues to be ranked the “No. 1 Golf Course in Myrtle Beach” by Golf Digest, Golf Magazine and Golfweek, along with numerous national and international accolades.
The Dunes Club has played host to six Senior Tour PGA Championships, one Women’s U.S. Open and several PGA Tour Q-School finals. It’s also home to one of the nation’s top-rated Par-5s, known as “Waterloo,” which features an inverted dogleg around Lake Singleton.
With a Lowcountry terrain that varies from the oceanfront, salt marshes, tidal creeks and maritime forests, the Dunes Club also is known as the most scenic course in Myrtle Beach. Complete practice facilities, Southern hospitality and other amenities are among the extras that set this course apart from the rest.

Loved the course. Starter was terrific and checked in on me during and after the round. Very impressed.
Awesome course. the group had a great time, though it was a bit cold. Going to play here again for sure!
The starter was extremely friendly, the greens were firm and fast, layout was a challenge. I recommend either buying yardage book at pro shop or going on the course website and downloading the course app for cell phone to use as a yardage function.
Worth the price tag! Only ocean views you will see at any of the courses in the area. Greens were incredibly fast, actually fair to say they were the fastest set of greens I've had the pleasure of putting on. Exceptional facility!
I was underwhelmed with the course. It was nothing special. For a private course, it was disappointing. We would not play this one again. We enjoyed the Barefoot Fazio course much better.
People were great, very friendly yet professional and make you feel welcome into their world!
Course was in great shape and the greens were nice and fast even though they were just sanded.
Can't wait to go back next year!!!
Tony the starter was great. very helpful and funny.
end of the round, the guy who supposed to come take care the club or cart, did not even try to come, he was just sit there watching us.....
pretty lazy....( unless he was assigned to other job that i wasn't aware.....)
over all, great course. one more suggestion, a little map of the score card or a lay out map on the tee box might help. even starter Tony did warn us about the hidden water hazard. but you forgot and couldn't see it from the tee box.
only my 2 cents.
Easily the best course I've ever played. The course was a little soggy on a few holes due to the massive rainfall the night before, however, given the amount of rain it was surprisingly dried out (as good as it could've been). The tee boxes were in great shape, the fairways cut and maintained, and the greens outstanding (and fast... even with all the rain). I'll definitely play the course again and I'd recommend it to anyone. The price was high but worth playing it from time to time (or at least once). Loved it!
