Possum Trot Golf Club
Possum Trot Golf Club
Possum Trot Golf Club in North Myrtle Beach has a hometown course feel that is a familiar fit for players of all skill levels and handicaps.
Known as the “Friendliest Course on the Grand Strand,” Possum Trot also is more than fair for average golfers, featuring wide, open fairways and ground-gaining Par-5s. But it’s also a nice test for single-digit handicappers.
Possum Trot also offers a unique golf training facility that is among the best in the Myrtle Beach area. Home of the Simply Great Golf Academy, top-notch instructors can help you fix your swing before you hit the first tee.
It’s all part of what makes Possum Trot a special experience. The combination of a friendly and helpful staff and a challenging little layout makes the course a popular pick among locals and visitors alike.

we had heard that this was one of the friendliest courses. It was not different than any other course.
This is our favorite course in MB because we started playing here 30 years ago on golf vacations. It has improved over the years with one exception. You have to drive on the cart paths very slowly because they are under grown with the roots of the trees that 30 years ago were very small.
Played Possum Trot yesterday with our wives. We were disappointed with the way
we were treated. It states it is a friendly place to play. We specifically asked
the pro before we started if we finished in less than 4 1/2 hours would that be
ok. We did finish in about 4hrs and 15 minutes and the marshall was always
there. When I asked him if we were slow he said yes. There was a threesome
behind, who we offered to let through but they said it was ok. I went in after
the golf and voice my opinion and left. The wives felt the pressure as I did.
It is off season. We were not slow and did not spend any time looking for
balls. The group in front of us was long gone but they were 4 men would appeared
to be good golfers.
Incidentally, the Marshall stated that we want to push golfers through in 4 hrs.
The person in the pro-shop said that he couldn't speak for the marshall and said
to come back tomorrow and speak to the pro.
If you have a friendly golf course who are ok with 4hrs and 15 minutes that
would be great. I am a 14hdcp and have played for many years. Here for month,
but will not go back to the Trot.
tee time was 10:44 and we finished at 2:44 . (We did get of a little early)
Very enjoyable round. Course is playable for all levels of player. Pace of play was good and conditions excellent for the amount of recent rain. Unfortunately was cart path only. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. A fun day!
The course was a bit soggy. One hole they were spreading a seed and manure mix. Very unpleasant.
An older course that is beautifully maintained! No too long, but a real joy to play! I show up every year on vacay, a true gem!
All the ranger tried to do was rush us through every hole! Terrible experience , will never play there again!!
