Barefoot Resort: Dye
The Dye Course at Barefoot Resort & Golf, handcrafted by designer Pete Dye, is both a beauty and a challenge. That’s forever the aim of Dye, by design.
The semi-private facility in North Myrtle Beach is set amidst the backdrop of the exclusive Barefoot Resort and surrounded by The Dye Estates, a private, gated community.
Although the course can be unforgiving, players of all abilities should be able to meet the challenges embedded within the par 72, 7,343-yard layout when played from the right tees. Dye utilizes native grasses; fairways are GN-1 Bermuda grass, a hybrid developed by Greg Norman Turf; approaches are Tifdwarf Bermudagrass; greens are L-93 Bentgrass and roughs are seeded with Centipede and Zoysia grasses.
The Dye Course at Barefoot Resort and Golf is certainly turning heads nationally, listed among the “Best Courses You Can Play” by the South Carolina golf course ratings panel, ranked No. 99 among Golf Digest’s America’s 100 Greatest Public Courses in 2009 and ranked No. 10 among Golf Digest’s Top 50 Courses of Myrtle Beach in 2005.
After a round, relax in the luxurious Dye clubhouse, which offers breathtaking views of holes 9, 10 and 18. Private member areas feature fine dining, a full fitness complex and elegant lodging.

Julie Sanders an exceptional Golf Director at Myrtle Beach Golf.
This is my 39 golf outing that I have organized and booked, somewhere between 24-12 players. It is usually time consuming with lots of back and forth but this year was different.
This year I was fortunate to get Julie as my service agent to book 2022 trip. Julie, listens to my requirements then goes to work getting me the exact solution with the best price to our group. Julie has excellent communication skills, she is organized and the turn around to get me the information to make my decision was fast and accurate.
She went beyond any agent I have ever worked with, including finalizing the golf package on her day off.
You would be smart to ask for Julie the next time you need to book a golf outing.
Julie, thank you so much.
All the best, Ron
"Dye Course was great! Greens were most beautiful we’ve played on this year...not a hard course, but requires patience or great reward for risks!!"
This course is one of the best at the beach. I'm familiar with Dye designs having played P.B Dye Golf Club in Maryland several times and Prestwick here in Myrtle. I was pleased to see that Barefoot Dye course is much more fair than I've grown use to seeing from Dye. The course has a wonderful layout, great greens and was is excellent shape for January golf. I look forward to returning soon.
Had a great time at the Dye Club on Saturday. Staff was great and so was the golf course. I heard the course is tough. It can be tough, but if you play the right tees you will certainly enjoy it. Didn't play well, but definitely a must play if you have the time. Great Golf!
Solid course. As always Dye has a really challenging (but fair) layout. Greens have lots of undulation, lots of pot bunkers, dunes, and water. Huge emphasis on hitting the fairways and greens. The rough and bunkers around the greens are quite difficult to get up and down.
Overall, a great Dye design in good condition, and a sure challenge even for the better golfer. Friendly staff as well
Always love a challenge and that is exactly what you get at the Barefoot Dye course. Greens were immaculate and rolled true! The staff offers first class service! If you have not played this course, you need to put it on the top of your list!
