Myrtle Beach National Company To Host
One Of 2001 Plantations Junior Golf Tournament

Litchfield Country Club and Willbrook Plantation to Host National Tour Event

Pawleys Island, S.C. (August 2, 2001) – Myrtle Beach National Company will host a Plantations Junior Golf Tour (PJGT) golf tournament at Litchfield Country Club and Willbrook Plantation September 15 and 16. PJGT's 2000-2001 tournament season runs September through May and includes more than 100 tournaments in 17 states.

Each 36-hole tournament is limited to 120 golfers and follows a stroke play format with age groups for boys and girls 8-19. College students are not eligible to compete.

The event hosted by Myrtle Beach National Company will include a welcome reception, a Lowcountry buffet breakfast, an awards dinner and presentation with trophies given to the most outstanding players.

Participants will earn points each PJGT tournament according to their rankings in each event. A junior must be a member of the PJGT before they can register for any Junior tournament. The membership cost for the PJGT for the 2001-2002 season is $125 and the cost of the tournament hosted by the Myrtle Beach National Company is $135.

The PJGT staff has run 460 tournaments in 17 different states over the past 11 years. Last season, the tour ran 125 events with1,702 members from 35 states and nine different countries. Seven tournaments are held on PGA or LPGA tour event sites.
