Photos from the World Amateur Handicap Championship in Myrtle Beach
The 24th annual World Amateur Handicap Championship took place Aug. 27-31 on close to 70 Myrtle Beach-area golf courses.
Nearly 3,800 golfers, ranging in skill level from scratch to 36-plus handicaps, competed in 38 different flights. After the four-day tournament, each flight winner and ties moved on to the Friday final at the Dunes Golf and Beach Club, where 27.5-handicap June Wang shot a net-63 to win a $650 gift certificate and World Am trophy.
The 19th hole featured some big names in the golf industry, including LPGA superstar Annika Sorenstam and Phil Mickelson's short game guru Dave Pelz.
