Litchfield Country Club is a proud Lowcountry tradition, passed down to generations of members, friends and families since it opened for play in Pawleys Island in 1966.

A true tradition and history are steeped in this 18-hole golf course, among the original eight great courses built on the Grand Strand – and thee first on the south end. Handcrafted by Willard Byrd, the par-72 Litchfield is also traditional by design throughout its 6,752 yards, with narrow fairways, sharp doglegs, but also player-friendly greenside pathways. Original features are prominent.

Also prominent here are the whispers of Southern past, on the former grounds of one of the largest rice plantations on the Waccamaw Neck, lakes, and in the stately plantation-style clubhouse surrounded by giant live oaks dating back to the 18th century.

Accolades of today include 4.5 stars in Golf Digest’s “2008 Places to Play” and “World’s 50 Best – 1996,” as named by Conde Nast Traveler.
