The Legends Golf Resorts' Moorland Course in Myrtle Beach is known as one of the toughest tests of golf in the Eastern United States, and for good reason.
Designed by renowned architect P.B. Dye, Moorland is similar in layout to the PGA West Stadium Course, using extreme elevation changes, hazards of natural grasses, sand, water and waste areas and multi-tiered greens to create incredible undulations and scenery.
Considered a "target" golf course for it sculpted terrain that rises to great heights and sinks to considerable depths in the bunkers, the 4.5-star rated Moorland has earned its designation as one of the "Top 10 New Courses of 1990" by Golf Digest.
Moorland also presents one of the top holes on the Grand Strand with its 245-yard, par-4 16th, which features a bunker guarding the green so large that it earned the nickname "Hell's Half Acre." It's just one of the many factors that make it a great challenge for all skill levels.
