About the course
Why golfers play Heritage Club
Your day at the Heritage Club is a trip back in time. Built on two of South Carolina's historic plantations along the scenic Waccamaw River, the Heritage Club is a traditional favorite of Grand Strang golfers. Over 600 acres of giant magnolias, freshwater lakes and marshes have been transformed into a golf course that rivals any course in the Southeast. Honored by Golf Digest as #46 in the "Top 100 Public Courses in America" and recently rated 4.5 stars in "Places to Play," the Heritage Club is a mixture of pure Southern charm and hospitality. It is a "must play" on your next trip.

★★★★★“Greens under maintenance”
★★★★★“Greens were punched and very slow”
★★★★★“Good course design, but course has not been maintained—would not play again”
★★★★★“Shockingly bad conditions. I've played here 2x before and thought was 1 of the nicest courses I'd ever been on so to see in this state is really sad.”
★★★★★“Wow, a beautiful course and experience. The o Ly down side are the dry and ugly tee offs”
★★★★★“course was a little spotty. Tee boxes not great.”
★★★★★“The course was in excellent shape again and has a great layout. We always include it in our list to play. Having breakfast, lunch and two beers included is an added bonus. The pace of play was ok. The only negative was that we barely made it into the clubhouse in time to order our lunch as the staff wanted to close the kitchen at 3pm. They were still professional but clearly would have preferred to shut down. Since we cannot control the pace of play ahead of us, I will request an earlier tee time next year to avoid this issue.”
★★★★★“First time here and absolutely loved.”
★★★★★“Beautiful golf course!! Really friendly staff, beautiful club house, and really good food!!”

★★★★★“This was the second straight day for cart path only. I popped my knee out on the eighth hole. I could not finish.”

★★★★★“Best course we play all week”
★★★★★“We are from NJ and flew down to play some Myrtle Beach Golf for a long weekend. First off, I love this course and chose to play this course again, but it seemed like it was over booked. The course was in good shape. We were teamed up with another 2some. Our 4some waited at every tee box to tee off making for (another) looong day of golf. Our tee time was for 9:56am and we didn’t finish until 3:20pm. At 3:20 we walked into the clubhouse-Hungry-for our included free lunch only to be told “the kitchen closed at 3pm” at which time were were offered either a hot dog or a pre-made sandwich sealed in a plastic container sitting in a small fridge and a small bag of chips. I took a hot dog and my son took a sandwich. As we were finishing up the hot dog and sandwich, at 3:35pm, a Server walks out of the back with a full large tray of hot Cheeseburgers and French fries on plates and proceeds to serve a group of golfers (6) sitting next to us. How hard would it have been for the Bartender to run in the back to add 2 more hot cheeseburgers/fries to the Cook after I told her our round included lunch off the menu? However, she didn’t care at all-NOT COOL! This was a total let down after paying for the golf package that INCLUDED a nice lunch off the menu. This was not appreciated at all.”
★★★★★“Golf staff were great the restaurant staff were terrible. Golf course was good”
★★★★★“Enjoyed the course”
★★★★★“beautiful course. over 6 hour round. started on hole 10 even when tee times were made 359 days in advance”
★★★★★“Absolutely terrible that tee times are scheduled at 8 minute intervals. Waited on every shot. A rush atmosphere that was not acceptable”
★★★★★“Great course, but 30 mins late teeing off and 5 hour round”
