PGA Tour legend Greg Norman has brought his award-winning design style to the Barefoot Resort in Myrtle Beach. Norman's design is highlighted by it's prime location, with seven holes playing along the Intracoastal Waterway, while each hole is framed by the land's native vegetation.
There is a mix of large waste areas, while sloping faces (in the spirit of famed architect Alister Mackenzie) and steep, sod-walled bunkers. The 7,200-yard course was designed in the spirit of the two-time British Open champion's philosophy of promoting a bump-and-run game, which allows golfers to be creative around the course's greens.
The course also features' the Norman team's GN-1 hybrid bermuda turf, which is employed on the next door Fazio and Love courses, all of which play out of Barefoot's beautiful and large clubhouse facility that features a terrace overlooking the Fazio course's 18th green.
