With an impressive list of accolades and tributes this course is worthy of all the praises and awards. Laying across 260 acres with sparkling lakes and ancient oaks this course hosts spectacular scenery of both marsh and river along the winding Intracoastal Waterway. Given 4 stars and rated one of the ?Top 10 in Myrtle Beach? it?s no surprise to find that Sports Illustrated writer William Nack hailed it as one of his three favorite courses to play from North Carolina to Florida.

Reviews:

  • This course should have a slope rating much higher than it was given. Was not fun to play. Too difficult for most golfers even from the white tees. Hole number 16 is ridiculously difficult. I played the white tees with a 6 handicap, hit a decent tee shot and had 258 on Skycaddie left to the green. Pitched up to end of fairway with 7 iron and hit 5 wood to green. Three putted. Beat other 7 golfers in our group by at least 2 shots with two players posting Xs. No. 17 had wind in our face so I could choose to either hook the shot or slice the shot around a tree directly between the tee and the green. Again my bogey four wins the hole. And #18 is just silly. Risk carrying your tee shot 230 yds. and hit wedge to the green, or pitch down a short fairway with from 7 to 5 iron, then hit 170 yard shot to small green. These 3 holes are the hardest and dumbest 3 finishing holes that I've ever played in 46 years of golf and around 150 rounds per year. I'd give up playing golf if this was the only course that I could play. All true.
