True Blue course truly dazzles Myrtle Beach golfers

Some people like to awaken to a cup of coffee. Others take a hot shower, or maybe a long walk. In Myrtle Beach, however, the ultimate wakeup call is True Blue. Because if you’re into golf on the Grand Strand, nothing will wake you up faster than the No. 1 hole at this Mike Strantz-designed run - it’s 624 yards.

True Blue has always been one of those Myrtle Beach golf courses that the magazines adore, as it’s drawn raves from just about every golf publication you can find. One problem, though - it was a course that tended to kick the butts of players who weren’t low handicappers.

“It took us a few years to realize we had made it too tough,” John Springs, the general manager at True Blue and Caledonia told Tim McDonald here at MyrtleBeachGolf.com. “(Strantz) really built a tournament golf course.”

A few subtle changes though, and suddenly folks that shoot in the 80s and 90s were coming back to this delightful Grand Strand run. Take our word for it, so should you.
