Myrtle Beach golf: Arrowhead & Wild Wing

Wednesday August 8, 2007 | 04:28:02 142 words

For some, a golf trip to Myrtle Beach means finding values where they can. There are too many great golf courses to play to spend all your money on just a couple rounds with exorbitant green fees. This is why runs like Arrowhead Country Club and Wild Wing Plantation are always busy.

Wild Wing, with its famed Avocet Course, is always looking out for golfers, and has discount rates of around $50 throughout the year at specific times, and also offers $30 replays.

Arrowhead is another course that wants you back, as this Raymond Floyd designed track offers players great deals if they come back to play it again within a week or less, with rates plummeting to under $50.

So those of you who look for great deals on cheap green fees in Myrtle Beach, just know that there are deals available for you.

some of us are not of the opinion that $50 for a round of golf--especially when there are two of us playing--is so wonderful that we just can't wait to tell all our friends about the great deal we got. However, my wife and I will be heading to Myrtle Beach next week, and we would certainly appreciate hearing how we can play some nice courses at reasonable prices. Might even be able to use some tips on where the best 19th holes and food are.

Just Played Arrowhead and the Greens are terrible. They have beny grass and they are burnt out in many places and the divots have no been fixed. Also their sand traps are not manicured and we played first thing in the morning. I wouldn't even pay the replay rate with the greens and sand in those conditions. The fairways are nice but that is it.

I cannot believe this was just posted. I had just came back from MB and was telling some friends how disappointed I was in the greens at Arrowhead. I have played there before and don't ever recall seeing them this bad. I too have experienced the conditions of the sand traps, there are foot prints all over and we played after it had rained and the sand was not raked in the morning where the rains drained down into the traps. I will never play there again unless I know what the green conditions are ahead of time...for any price. Great layout. horrible greens.

Grass is green. What color is grass?
